Accident Care and Treatment Center in Oklahoma City has installed and begun using a new 2017-model GE Wide-Bore MR450W MRI.
The MR450W joins an already large in-house imaging lineup that includes digital X-ray, a GE CT660 CT scanner, a Hitachi Airis Elite open MRI, Doppler ultrasound and two GE 9800 C-arm fluoroscopy units, making the clinic one of the more advanced imaging centers in Oklahoma.
What patients will notice
The new scanner is designed for comfort and convenience. GE’s Acoustic Reduction Technology, together with its OpTix, IROC and MAGiC technologies, makes exams quieter while producing sharper images. The wider bore and feet-first positioning give patients more room, which helps larger patients and anyone who feels claustrophobic in a traditional MRI.
“GE is known to be a leader in MR imaging systems. Having one of their latest MR systems will allow us to combine extraordinary imaging quality with improved patient comfort,” said Dr. Anthony Sparks, the clinic’s on-site interventional radiologist. “We are excited to bring cutting edge technology to our patients to further improve their care.”
Why on-site imaging matters after a crash
A car accident already disrupts your life. Having MRI, CT and X-ray in the same building as your doctor means faster, more accurate answers about your injuries without extra trips to other facilities.
